This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of office space acquisition, lease renewal, and facility oversight for the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). It involves working closely with the Department of General Services’ Real Estate Services Division (RESD), lessors, contractors, and local office leadership to identify, evaluate, and secure office locations that meet state requirements, accessibility/ADA standards, and program needs. The position conducts feasibility studies, cost analyses, and site searches; reviews and amends floor plans and modular furniture layouts; and attends all phases of construction-related meetings. Throughout each project, the role serves as a liaison across multiple DOR divisions, ensures accurate space planning tied to staffing allocations, and coordinates all elements related to office moves, from procurement of services to on-site move-day oversight.
In addition to acquiring new space, the position oversees lease renewals to ensure continuity of operations and compliance with leasing terms. It manages complex lease- and facility-related issues, conducts annual inspections for safety and ADA compliance, administers contracts for facility services, and processes financial transactions and reports tied to leased space. The role also maintains the Lease Management Module in the state’s Fi$CAL system, entering lease data, processing updates, and reconciling payments. As needed, the position supports other leasing specialists and represents the department on facility matters with regulatory agencies, contributing to broader business services efforts and customer service initiatives.

The majority of the work will take place in one of the following locations with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders: a DOR open office setting in a cubicle environment, offsite in the community, at events and various partner locations, and/or at an approved alternate work location. The incumbent must have the ability to work in an office setting for up to 40 hours per week and remain at a workstation for extended periods while utilizing a personal computer, peripherals, and other office equipment with or without accommodation. The incumbent will be working in an office setting with both natural and artificial lighting. Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
