Our Client is seeking a Director of Technology who will lead their overall technology strategy, infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives in support of a growing commercial finance and specialty lending platform. This role will partner closely with executive leadership and business teams to improve operational efficiency, strengthen data and reporting capabilities, enhance cybersecurity, and support scalable growth across the organization. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with experience managing enterprise technology environments within financial services, lending, fintech, or other regulated industries. This individual will oversee day-to-day technology operations while driving long-term modernization, automation, and data initiatives across the organization.
Base Salary range: $180K- $200K
Technology Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the company’s technology roadmap aligned with business objectives and growth initiatives.
Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership on technology planning, systems optimization, cybersecurity, AI governance, and operational scalability.
Define and implement the company’s AI usage policies, governance standards, and technology initiatives.
Identify opportunities to automate workflows, improve reporting, and enhance operational efficiency across the organization.
Evaluate and implement new technologies that support business growth and operational resilience.
Effectively communicate strategies, opportunities, risks, project/program updates, issues, and go-forward options to senior management
IT Operations & End User Support
Oversee company-wide laptop, mobile device, and end-user technology setup, administration, and lifecycle management.
Provide and manage first-level technology support for all employees across the organization.
Escalate and manage technology issues with external managed service providers, including primary oversight of the relationship with the company’s MSP.
Establish IT operational standards, documentation, and support procedures.
Lending & Business Systems
Manage and optimize the company’s Loan Management System (“LMS”), including oversight of future platform migration initiatives.
Lead the migration of the existing LMS environment to a new enterprise platform.
Evaluate existing internally developed Excel tools, specifically in VBA and manage the transition to scalable third-party or enterprise solutions where appropriate.
Partner with business teams to improve workflows related to underwriting, collateral monitoring, reporting, treasury operations, and portfolio management.
Manage integrations between internal systems, ERP platforms, reporting tools, banking systems, and third-party applications.
Partner with TRUST team, providing technical services to enable Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product operations and growth.
Lead, hire, and manage (approved) staff, setting clear goals, managing performance, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and compliant work environment.
Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
Lead enterprise data analytics and reporting initiatives across the organization.
Serve as the primary liaison between business users and technology/reporting platforms, including Power BI, ERP systems, and LMS platforms.
Support data integrations, including TRUST and related reporting environments.
Improve reporting accuracy, accessibility, automation, and operational visibility through enhanced business intelligence capabilities.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
Serve as the company’s technology security lead and oversee enterprise cybersecurity initiatives.
Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, controls, monitoring procedures, and incident response protocols.
Manage information security governance, risk mitigation, and technology controls.
Coordinate cybersecurity initiatives with external vendors, consultants, auditors, and MSP partners.
Ensure system reliability, disaster recovery preparedness, business continuity planning, and data protection standards.
Support internal and external technology audits and compliance initiatives.
Project & Vendor Management
Lead enterprise technology projects from planning through implementation.
Manage relationships with software vendors, consultants, managed service providers, and fintech partners; including end-to-end contract negotiation, renewal management, and the establishment and monitoring of SLAs to ensure performance standards and alignment with business objectives.
Establish project timelines, priorities, budgets, and success metrics.
Ensure technology initiatives are delivered efficiently and aligned with business goals.
Financial & Budget Management
Develop, manage, and forecast the IT budget, including project-level budget management, cost control, and variance analysis, ensuring transparency and alignment with business priorities and financial targets.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of progressive technology and IT leadership experience.
Experience within commercial finance, specialty lending, banking, fintech, or other regulated financial services environments preferred.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity, infrastructure management, cloud technologies, and enterprise systems.
Experience managing software implementations, systems integrations, reporting platforms, and operational technology projects.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft environments, Excel-based operational tools, Power BI, and ERP systems
Experience supporting customer-facing SaaS platforms and teams preferred
Demonstrable understanding of AI/ML concepts, capabilities, and limitations, with the ability to evaluate tools, assess vendor claims, and guide technology decisions
Working knowledge of AI-related data privacy, security, and regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, ISO42001), with experience establishing or maintaining governance policies that manage risk across client-facing data environments
Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Technical Experience
Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP platforms
Power BI and enterprise reporting tools
Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or similar)
Cybersecurity governance and risk management frameworks
Data analytics and systems integration
Experience supporting lending technology platforms preferred
Experience building dashboards or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or similar)
Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, or financial platforms
Python, SQL, or automation scripting experience preferred
Working knowledge and experience with modern AI platform(s) (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot), including prompt engineering, workflow integration, AI-assisted decision support, and personal productivity
