SUMMARY

The Culture and Community Engagement Manager will play a crucial dual role at Brighton Center, focusing on strengthening our internal culture while building vibrant external communities that support our mission. This position is responsible for creating a positive, engaging workplace environment while simultaneously developing and nurturing our community partners to connect more families to Brighton's services and resources they need.

This position serves as a vital link between Brighton Center's internal culture and its external community presence, ensuring alignment with our mission and strategic objectives.

The Culture and Community Engagement Manager will report to the Chief Development Officer and will be instrumental in creating cohesive, mission-aligned experiences for both employees and community members that strengthen Brighton Center's impact and reach.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Brighton Culture Development 40%

  • Lead the Brighton Culture Council to develop and implement initiatives that strengthen organizational culture and align with strategic goals.
  • Design, plan, and execute organization-wide events that foster cross-program connection to elevate staff morale reinforcing Brighton Center's values and culture.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify culture improvement opportunities and implement strategies that enhance transparency, belonging and a sense of community.
  • Enhance internal communication channels to build transparency and information-sharing while reinforcing Brighton's tone and identity across announcements, updates, and celebrations.
  • Develop metrics and evaluation tools to measure the impact of culture initiatives and employee engagement.
  • Support onboarding alignment by embedding Brighton's culture into key new hire experiences in partnership with Human Resources.

Brighton Employee Volunteer Management 30%

  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for Brighton events and community initiatives
  • Create and implement community volunteer recognition program that reflect community impact and appreciation.
  • Track and report community Brighton volunteer engagement and identify opportunities for deeper involvement with community events (examples, Walks/Runs, United Way, and helping teams identify opportunities to serve other organizations).

Community Marketing Strategy 20%

  • Identify, plan, and execute program related outreach activities to include a follow up with all constituents from events (Pediatricians, healthcare fairs, ISD's.)
  • Support program-level events to gain a deeper understanding of the diverse needs and resource gaps that Brighton families face (e.g., Southside Playgroup, Preschool Fiesta Party) to develop strategic community outreach initiatives.
  • Train Brighton staff on how to represent Brighton's brand, voice, and mission in community, helping ensure consistency in presence across the organization.
  • Create and maintain dashboard on community engagement efforts and their alignment with strategic priorities.

Employee Communication 10%

  • Partner with the marketing team to coordinate internal communications that highlight staff recognition, upcoming events, and community partner highlight.
  • Capture and publish Brighton stories that demonstrate impact and culture across all internal channels, reinforcing mission connection and values in action.
  • Build and manage an annual culture communication plan that celebrates professional days, mission moments, and sets a standard for celebrations while promoting transparency and visibility.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Deep understanding of community building principles both internally (organizational culture) and externally (digital communities)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and donor database/CRM systems
  • Strong project management abilities with attention to detail and budget management
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships across diverse constituencies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Experience in event planning, logistics, and vendor management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate teams and volunteers

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and empathize with staff, clients, and stakeholders
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for effective decision-making
  • Effective prioritization of tasks according to deadlines and organizational priorities
  • Physical presence required every day during the week of major events
  • Ability to work hybrid schedule, onsite 3 days per week.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle with appropriate insurance
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during events
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods during office work
  • Ability to monitor a computer screen for extended periods

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Social Work, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in community outreach connecting people and resources.
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational culture development and employee engagement
  • Experience working with healthcare professionals and/or children with disabilities preferred
  • Prior experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, and community outreach highly desired
